This painting is on a Persian kilim carpet which I have gotten from my father, which he has bought more than 40 years ago. I brought this carpet with me 13 years ago as I moved to Germany. This carpet is one of the last things that I still own after I left Iran.
The word written in the middle of the painting is a calligraphy design of the word „hich" which means "nothing" in Farsi. "Nothing could erase these memories and nothing replace them either. In a way there is nothing remains from that life, however some are engraved on my soul."
